Fashion Island

love my birthday. I love Fashion Island. I love that my birthday corresponds with the Anthropologie sale, and I get an additional 15% off for my birthday!  Bonus, Fashion Island has fish which Henry loves.  It also has a pet store, which Henry loves, and even though I hate that say sell puppies, I figure it doesn't hurt to let him look.  My mom got me a fabulous new birthday digs, and H had fun petting chickens!

He was a bit wound out with all the excitement of the sale!

End of the madness?

I think Henry's birthday is officially over! René came over to deliver the final gifts. He has become a very good gift receiver. Lots of awesomes, and thank yous At one point he looked at Renè over his new dump trunk and said "I like it!". He even appreciated the packaging!

I'm 2, well tomorrow

Howdy! Henry is almost 2!  That means lots of crafting, cupcakes, friends, family, and cowboy food! It may have been a rough couple of days leading up to the big event, but the whole day was a smashing success!  Henry had a wonderful time playing with all his friends and cousins. Thank you so much to Carrie, Grandma Donna, Auntie Donna, Diane, Kim, Grandma Darla, and Auntie Lori for all the extra help!  You're assistance was soooo appreciated!  Thank you all for coming and celebrating our special little boy!  We are truly blessed to have you all in our lives!

Little boy, we love you more and more everyday!

Game on!

Excuse the grainy shot, i'm too busy to take my usual thousand

Birthday party is a go! Henry's fever broke yesterday, but I feared it would pop back up on the middle of the night. He woke up happy, and ready to party! He keeps saying "birthday party, cake, present, Lori, orange.". Not sure where he is getting this Lori orange thing, but it's nice that his big birthday present request is an orange. I'm sure next year will be a different story. Alright, gotta go and make up a day.

Worse than rain.

Fever!!! I'm not sure what poor Henry's got but i'm pretty bummed about the timing. I'm stuck trying to figure out whether to move his birthday party, or to just trust he'll be ok. I'm going with school rules, if he has a fever 24 hours before the party, it's postponed, if not, party on. Pray for health!!!!

Those pesky molars are a different story! I wish these teeth would just finish coming through already. I first thought that was the cause of his fever, but when it hit 102, I knew it was something else. Poor kid has his hand jammed in his mouth at all times. His bottom left seems to be popping through. Hopefully, the rest will follow.

Send us happy, healing thoughts today!!!

A gift giving guide...

The invites are out, the rsvp's are coming in, and the stress is rising. The invites are getting great reviews, and have lead to the inevitable, "what can I get Henry". Giving gift ideas makes me queezy. It is perfectly acceptable to show up with a bottle of wine, or a six pack for an adult birthday party, it doesn't quite work for kids (although, we would be fine with that). The thing is, when we get an invitation, I always call and ask what the kid needs. So I'm torn. I'm not a fan of registering for parties (weddings and baby showers excluded) I kinda understand why someone would. It alleviates having to actually tell people what to get, and just gives guests a checklist of ideas. He doesn't need anything, but i realize that that isn't going to fly, and i remember being a kid. Presents rock! So, here's a list of things Henry likes, and would be thrilled to receive.

Thomas the tank engine is his love. He has several actual Thomas trains, but surprisingly, doesn't have a Henry. They have a junior Thomas line, and those trains don't work well on his tracks, so avoid the junior line. Pretty much anything Thomas, other than actual Thomas, will be loved.

A scooter. They have a Jr Radio Flyer that seems perfect for a toddler. Two wheels in front, one in the back. He would love a skateboard, but he's not quite ready for it yet.

Safety gear, for said scooter. Knee pads, elbow pads I'm not positive the small ones will fit him yet, but we are trying to drive, safety first, into his brain. He already really good about grabbing his helmet, might as well continue. Plus, if his buddy Nicky has it his way, he will be jumping off ramps soon.

Hot wheels are always a hit.

Outdoor tonka trucks. I think they are metal, and yellow. Dump truck, cranes, etc.

Zip up sweatshirts, and pajamas. Size 2.

A toy guitar, or tar as he calls it.

Books are great!

Cucumbers, olives, and gallons of milk.

Pez, the candy, not the dispensers. Mark has past on several dozen pez, and we are always out of candy.

The new 4 door Cooper. He would like it in navy blue, please. Can't hurt to ask? ;)

Those are my ideas today. But please, feel free to just show up with a smile. Playing with his friends and family is worth more than any gift.
