Cute!

This age is pretty darn fun. He's such a sponge, and such a chatter box. Yesterday, my mom held up a new shirt she bought, and asked what he thought. He look up, tilted his head, and said "Cute!". Smart kid.

Later, when we were letting the dogs out, Lucy was taking her sweet time. Henry yelled, "Woocy, w'are you?".

And my final laugh was when I was asking him about his birthday. He looked at me and said, "Uncle Steefe, birfday." He remembered it from weeks before! I'm loving all these new words and correlation!

Busy, busy, busy

The race towards turning 2 is in full swing. I've got projects going left and right, plus papers to grade, wedding invite quotes to finish, and a new logo job in the works. Thankfully, carrie let me camp out and paint at her place. It's much easier to get things done when Henry is entertained. He was so tuckered out he fell asleep on the couch.

After nap we headed to Hampa's, so H could play and I could work. H always loves his park time. And checking out trucks with Hampa. He came home and actually requested bed! Sign of a good day.

Good Morning!

Henry usually ends up in bed with us for about an hour every morning.  We've started letting him watch youtube on our phones, while one of us is half awake, and the other attempts to sleep.  For the last week or so Henry has requested "laffing", this has been the video of choice....

There is nothing like waking up to a bunch of laughing trains, and one giggling little boy.

Wedding Redo

Mark's parents have had 50 years of wedded bliss! A celebration is in order, and Lori, Mark's sister, is hosting a party in their honor. I've been put on craft patrol, and Mark is doing his swan song as a florist. After this he has officially retired from the flower business. But if you should need a florist, I know an excellent set of florists and they love flowers!

After thumbing through their wedding pictures, I chose a few to frame. In my organizing frenzy, I found 8 black Martha Stewart frames, that worked perfectly!

I bought this vintage cake topper before Mark and I got married, and never ended up using it. I gave the bride a dye job to imitate Loxi's locks.

Before

After

Then came the lace. To mimic their original cake topper, it needed the lace heart. Fabric Barn had an off white, that I aged with tea to match the lace on the dress. Then the black wire became white wire thanks to Mark's endless supply of spray paint. The topper already had tiny holes on either side of tge bride and groom, so after some careful bending, presto! The crazy lace heart is complete!

Tomorrow should be fun. Let's just hope my appetizers go as easily as the crafts did.

Dog days

it seems summer has hit early. It's been in the 80's this week. This has had me and Henry running around outside. One of us rarely wears pants. I'm pretty sure Henry is purposely pouring water on himself so that I will remove his pants.

On the wet pants note, Henry is notorious for soaking his diaper during the night. Usually, he will wake up screaming. This morning his 5 am call was "WET, wet, mess, clean it" then an added "milk". Kid knows what he wants.
