Soccer Practice

We headed back to Del Mar to hang out with the kids.  We missed Josh on the first round.  Started with soccer practice at the polo field.  Horses, hot air balloons, fluffy clouds, what's not to love?

no one is safe

Kane got deemed bullseye for the day.

Beach Boys

Dinner with dad, and then a walk home by the boats.

Henry calls these palm tree his fireworks.

Mommy, I painting my face

Don't leave your kid with a makeup bag zipped inside another bag while driving home from Del Mar.  Henry happily announced "Mommy I  painting my face!" while carefully applying lipgloss with the tiny brush.  Perhaps he has a career in special effects makeup, as it does resemble an open wound.  Way to go son.

Kel and Claire

My girls are growing up!  This makes me sad, and happy.  Sad because I remember both of them at Henry's age, and can't believe how quickly they became 10 and 13. Happy, because they are still so darn sweet.  Added bonus, they take Henry off my hands.

They are the perfect dynamic duo right now.  Claire is fun, creative, and has enough imagination to keep Henry on his toes.  Kelly reminds me of a little me.  She keeps an eye on H, makes sure him (and claire) are safe, and yet still manages to be super fun.  I adore my little girls!  I hate to see them grow, but are so proud of who they are becoming.

Jump for Joy

Trampolines are fun, and they exhaust 2 year olds.  Henry took advantage of the Bernd kids being at soccer practice, and took over the whole sha-bang.

let's visit Hogwarts

Harry Potter, my reluctant obsession.  I was opposed to the tween sensation until a children's literature class made me analyze the book.  Then I was hooked!  Now I'm hoping Henry will love it so I can buy this awesome poster for his room.  It's like fantasyland and Hogwarts rolled into one!  I originally found this on the Design Mom blog, with a few other awesome posters.  Check it out.

cheap play date at South Coast Plaza

Yes, the world famous hoity toity mall is a fantastic place to take the kiddies.  The merry-go-round at Crystal Court is only a dollar!  Not only that, but they have deals on the back of the ticet, including free kids meals at Ruby's.  A steal, right?  But the best part, h&m, of course.  You can put off the merry-go-round for a bit while you peruse the new reasonably priced fashion. Fun for all!

Then you can have them run off their lunches before heading to the car.

Speaking of h&m, will someone please find me this fabric?  I found this dress there, and had to pick one up for Elsa. The fabric leaves me spinning with ideas.  If you ever run across any, hook me up!  Thanks!

my friend Elena is coming to dinner

Keiran was out of town, so we invited the gang over for dinner, along with Roger to fill in as their psuedo dad for the evening. Henry was so excited. He woke up from his nap and announced "My friend Elena is coming to dinner. We're going to play toys! We're going to share!". They did a good job playing toys and sharing. The evening started with some skinny dipping in Henry's pool.

Myles did some engineering.

Elena perfected naked basketball. She's got pretty good aim!

Kane makes an excellent shield for tiny people.

While Banjo makes and excellent Bullseye.

The night ended with 4 happy campers watching Bubble Guppies. Goodnight!

Park with Dad

El Dorado Park has become a weekend staple.  The train is a huge draw for H.  He loves running around with his Daddy, and showing him all his tricks!

Slides are fun at all ages!
